The house is a two story frame structure, sheathed in horizontal beveled siding, asymmetrical in form, with multi-gabled roof. Two gabled ends project to the front facade, the further-most projecting over a two story octagonal bay. The projecting gabled end returns over the octagonal bay and is trimmed with molded sawnwork brackets. Within each gabled end is a small retangular louvered vent trimmed with bracketed lintels with saw-tooth trim, as are all the windows. The eaves of the main roof structure are sheathed with flat-board material and is supported by decorative coupled brackets from a flush frieze board. Gabled end returns are also bracketed, however the rake cornice is not bracketed.

Windows with 2/2 sash. All windows are trimmed with flat-board casing with decorative bracketed lintels trimmed with a decorative saw-tooth mold. Louvered shutters have been added to the windows.

The one story veranda extends the full length of the front facade, returning on both sides. The roof of the porch features a small projecting gable over the entrance. This veranda offers a welcome to each and all to sit awhile to relax and enjoy. The turned post columns of the porch are trimmed with brackets of sunburst sawnwork and small apindles. These turned post are square at the pedestals and are connected with a nice turned balustrade.

This porch leads to the entrance to the expansive first floor entry foyer thru a oversized solid oak doow featuring 16 beveled glass panes. There's a gracious central foyer that connects to the first floor rooms that include a parlor/living room, formal dining room, kitchen, a guest half-bath, den, the master bedroom suite that includes a nice full sized bath with linen storage and a walk-in closet. A welcoming rear entry room that includes built-in cabinets and much-used bookcases can be found at the back of the house. This rear room serves as the back entry and leads outside onto a large, low deck that connects to a garage, a 12' x 12' original storage building and the back entrance parking area.

A broad staircase in the downstairs entry hall leads to a matching upstairs hallway that serves as a welcoming sitting area. There are 3 long and matching windows in this area that overlooks the front of the residence. The upper floor includes three additional bedrooms and a spacious bath that features the original claw-foot tub that has been also conveniently outfitted for use as a shower. A large walk-in storage closet connects to this bathroom.

The kitchen area has been updated to include ceramic tiled floors and counter backsplash. The cabinets are white with stainless pulls. The countertops are solid surfaced and a large center island has a granite top. This island offers generous storage drawers/shelves and is used with bar chairs for everyday meals. The appliances include a dishwasher, disposal, refrigerator, oven and smooth surface cook top. A Butler pantry is located between the kitchen and the formal dining room that contains a goodly amount of built-in shelving. The laundry is located in this area also.

The mature outside landscaping is kept in good condition with automatic watering from the outside irrigation system. A few of the plantings include an American hemlock, a large magnolia tree, crepe myrtles, azaleas, and a large fruiting pomegranate bush. Hostas, a lilac bush, pyracantha, laurels, hollies, rhododendron, spiraea, loropetlum, climbing hydrangea, viburnum, red maple, and a "smoke" tree are a few of the additional plantings. During the summers months annual flowering plants are added to the landscaping in the front and rear of the house. Ferns grace the front porch during the warm months and are kept in good growing condition with their own "self-watering" system that is on a daily timer. Summer bulbs & perennials as well as spring flowering bulbs are planted for seasonal enjoyment. Evergreen shrubs and the flower gardens add to the peaceful beauty of this home.

A small gold fish pond is located just outside the back house entry in a cozy spot off the expansive decking. The rear of the property is enclosed with fencing that is covered with English ivy and gives the feeling of a private courtyard. An automatic electronic operated gate completes the enclosure of this back yard area. A variety of colorful birds are attracted to the yard by the flowers, feeders and the running water of the pond feature. These colorful feathered friends visit daily and frequent the property during all seasons.
