Beautiful craftmanship is evident in every part of this home. Begin your tour on the 32 ft screened front porch. (One of 4 porches totaling 807 sq ft) Enter through the ornate doors into a 16x18 foyer. There is a large parlor, a formal dining area with a hand painted ceiling & exquisite arched stained glass, a study/office room, large butler's pantry with laundry & an updated kitchen on the first floor. Fireplaces are featured in both the parlor & dining room.
A grand open staircase with an array of stained glass windows takes you to the second level foyer which opens to 5 bedrooms & 3 baths. There is a fireplace featured in the Master bedroom as well as in a second large bedroom on this floor.
The third floor is host to a 1400 sq. ft ballroom area with 12 to 16 ft ceilings, hardwood floors, oak wainscot walls & a small coal fireplace. During the 1930's & 40's this room held many gala parties & was visited by a number of interesting guests including Fighting Bob LaFollette, Ann Lander's & her sister Abigail Van Buren.
This property has been the home & shelter toseveral Eau Claire families for the past 116 years and is looking for a new steward to take her Queen Anne design & influence into the future.
