This is the front view of the farmhouse. Notice the rock retaining wall below; this wall is part of the original road way that lead from Wales to North Prairie and has been maintained along the two entryways to this home.
Truly a one-of-a-kind property. The original road that lead from Wales to North Prairie runs for 1/4 mile through this property and is part of its driveway! Two entrances lead to this home. The original land grant dates back to 1845 and is signed by President John Tyler. Built into the side of an esker, this historic 1860’s farmhouse, completed renovated in 1983/84, was once owned by the Williams family, who were ministers and farmers in the area. Two books were written about his family. The home offers lots of charm and character, with built in book shelves, beamed and vaulted ceilings, recessed lighting, hardwood floors and so much more!
