The Old Mill was originally established in 1888 as Alto Pass Milling Company. Its signature product was Pride of Alto Flour. Not only was grain processed in the mill, but the steam engine produced electricity in the 1900's that was sold to other merchants in the village. Over the years the building has had many uses including a hardware & lumber store, electrical/appliance store, antique store and on the 2nd and 3rd floor baskets were made for the local orchards to ship their produce in. The Mill is the oldest business building left in Alto Pass. Some of the original beams can be seen in the Café and the upstairs.
