This fine example of Victorian architecture has some interesting history attached. It was built by Mrs. Benton Koontz; mother of Admiral Robert Koontz who grew up in Hannibal. Laura Hawkins, the famed "Becky Thatcher" of Mark Twain's novels even attended a wedding at the home.
