Department Store Building
The ground floor includes an office which can be separate or open to the main building. It has two front doors, two bathrooms and a rear exit. The property includes a small parking lot in back which may also be used for loading access.
This building is located in old downtown Demopolis and is within walking distance to the town square, post office, library, and civic center overlooking the Tombigbee River and just a few minutes drive to the yacht basin.
According to the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce:
Demopolis is a city of approximately 7701 people. The population within a 35 mile radius of town is 76,896. The city is located just south of the convergence of the Black Warrior and Tombigbee Rivers. It has several historic buildings including Gaineswood and Bluff Hall.
There is also a public 18 hole golf course, the 300 acre Demopolis Sportsplex, Alabama Southern Community College, an inland state dock, two industrial parks and a municipal airport with 5000' runway. Demopolis hosts BASS fishing tournaments, Christmas on the River (an annual nautical parade), and the Alabama State Championship Barbeque Cookoff.
There are also several privately owned lodges in the area for deer, turkey and quail hunting.
