1925 Tudor Revival

Wayne, Pennsylvania 19087

Stunning Tudor

301 Windsor Avenue in
301 Windsor Avenue in
The home was designed by Frank Stephens - who, along with William Lightfoot Price (architect & founder of Rose Valley), founded the Arts & Crafts community of Arden in Delaware. Skilled craftsmen from Arden built this home in 1925 for the first owner, Lydia Wood Bailey. Frank Stephens was also a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and brother-in-law of well-known Philadelphia artist Thomas Eakins. Known as "Assisi", this home features a stunning stained glass window depicting St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. The connection is further illustrated by the carved animal finials at the peaks of the several of the exterior roof lines and a nearby street which is named Francis Ave.
Modern "state of the art" kitchens, bathrooms, and HVAC systems combine with original features such as a slate roof, hand carved millwork, and stained glass in this unique historic home.
