A historic treasure, circ 1749

A Historic Treasure, circ 1749 stone Dutch colonial was built by freed slaves and located in the desired village of Piermont on the Hudson in New York. This home has been meticulously restored by an award winning historic preservationist using period tools, materials and craftsmanship.

The two feet thick stonewalls keep this home cool in the summer and cozy in the winter. Tiered stonewall leads to a second deck overlooking a pristine view of the classic white church steeple and the calm Sparkill Creek.

The home has been crafted with stone from the Palisades and is faced with dressed local sandstone in classic Flemish style. The structure was the first home passed by America's first railroad that ran from Piermont NY to Erie PA. Other notable highlights include being Aaron Burr's hide-out after the duel that killed Alexander Hamilton, served as local artist Carlotta Petrina's Studio and more recently home to John Crawford. who was one of the puppet makers for Jim Henson's Muppets.

The 1749 Freedom House is restored to perfection...Exposed beams, Two Large Fireplaces, Wide Plank Floors, Fieldstone Walls ,exquisite Dining Room, breathtaking Living room with Cathedral Ceiling, Stained Glass, fabulous porch with picturesque views, Chef's Kitchen with stainless appliances, Amazing Loft and Handrails....indoor Home Theatre and more. Stone gardens. Walk to village, parks and river.
