It has been home to several prominent Rome families including Ben Yancey. Calder Willingham, author and screenwriter (The Graduate,) is Eben Hillyer's great-grandson. The author, screenwrier, Calder Willingham (Rambling Rose, The Graduate,) was a descendent of Eben Hillyer and wrote of life in the South.
